Adventureland Articles
I just rounded out week 2 of working on the upcoming film Adventureland. As you've seen in my previous posts, I'm the Promotional Extras Supervisor, and I've been working to get the word out about volunteer extras and the casting calls we're holding to rally them. Below is a smattering (yes, a smattering) of links to different articles and announcements we've had published so far.
Beaver County Times - You Oughta Be In Pictures
Pittsburgh Trib PM - 'Superbad' Director Recruits Extras For Local Film
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette - Experience is only pay for extras on movie set
Hopefully more to follow. Tell your friends. Spread the word.

Two Adventureland Casting Calls - This Weekend
That's right, we're at it again.
EXTRAS IN MOVIE - ADVENTURELAND
Two Volunteer Extras Casting Calls for the upcoming film “Adventureland” will be held this weekend: Saturday, October 6th from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and Sunday, October 7th from 6 pm to 9 pm at the front gates of Kennywood Park (parking will be free). Casting is not first come, first served. All interested parties need to be 18 or older and know that some shooting days will be short (4-5 hours), some will be long (12+ hours). This information will not be available ahead of time. You do not need to commit to the entire shoot – we’ll take as many or as few days as you are available. For the Casting Call, everyone should bring a recent photograph of themselves, or we can take a photo for you at the call.
The film, entitled “Adventureland”, is being directed by Greg Mottola, the director of this summer’s smash hit “Superbad”. Most of the movie will be filmed in Kennywood Park, in conjunction with the Pittsburgh Film Office. The shoot will take place from October 3rd through November 16th. A number of enthusiastic volunteer background extras will be needed to fill the park and represent Pittsburgh proudly. Though unpaid, the volunteer extras will be given the opportunity to be on the same set as stars Ryan Reynolds and Kristen Stewart, provided with food throughout the day, plus everyone will receive a free “Adventureland” t-shirt. Also, the entire film is set in 1987, so break out your best 80’s outfits.
If you cannot make it to the casting call, you can enter our database by reaching Anthony or Adam at 412-667-2092 or e-mail us at AdventurelandVolunteerExtras@gmail.com. For up-to-date info, including a downloadable Casting Form, check out:
